My 2016 Statistics

31/12/2016

As 2016 is drawing to a close I thought it would be a good time to share a review of my last year on Instagram with my 2016 best nine.

Firstly I am amazed at my total number of likes throughout the year
- a whole 1.2 MILLION !

It's really interesting to see which photos have been the most liked and clearly, along with my signature white background, my underwater yoga photos are particularly popular with my top photo receiving 4,722 likes alone and all photos in my best nine receiving over 3,000 likes each.  I'm also surprised to see one of my very few videos is in there in 4th place.  I very rarely do videos (I've literally done no more than four in the whole year) so the fact one of these is in there is definitely something to consider for next year.

My Year End Statistics

A couple of days ago I reached 70,000 followers.
This time last year I had 17,000 which is a growth of over 53,000
and an average of over 1,000 new followers a week.
A check of my revfluence profile gives my year end stats at 2,000 average likes per post (an engagement rate of 3%) and 44 average comments per post.
Can you tell I like numbers - being a trained accountant comes in handy sometimes :)

Thank you to everyone who's continured to follow and like all my photos.
My last year on Instagram has given me loads of amazing experiences, I've made yoga friends from all over the world and I've had the opportunity to work with so many amazing brands throughout the year.  Bring on 2017 !

Space Cadets Yoga

27/7/2016

Last week must have been one of the most fun yoga challenges I’ve hosted as myself, Steph (@stephaniekicksbutt), Miraj (@mirajfindingbalance), Pep (@pepijnvn), Adell (@dragonyoga), Bay (@benditlikebay), Sigi (@sigikolbe) and Leigh (@leighemily) put on our @Werkshop pants and went on a spacey adventure to stretch and open our practice by focusing on poses to create that extra bit of space in our bodies.

Unforeseen to us our ‘spacey’ theme went into a whole other dimension as we travelled through the galaxies and I just couldn’t resist sharing this story we created of our crazy spacey adventure together:

Disclaimer: you will probably think what on earth am I going on about and this may be more of an ‘inside joke’ so check out the #SpaceCadetsYoga hashtag on Instagram and all will be revealed.

Day 1 – Gate Pose – We have lift off as the gates open and we blast up into atmosphere to start our spacey adventure.
Day 2 – Eka Pada Koundinyasana – Today we’re flying high as we move into warp drive, stretching our legs to find and fill this new found space.
Picture

Day 3 – Extended Side Angle Pose – Extending our journey and stretching even further into space whilst reaching for unknown worlds beyond.

Day 4 – Monkey Pose – Our ship has ‘split’ apart and we’re hurtling through space hoping we don’t land on the infamous planet ruled by monkeys.

Picture

Day 5 – Lizard Pose – Luckily we missed the Planet of the Apes but there’s no time to relax as we soon realised we’ve instead landed on a strange planet ruled by lizards and quickly have to blend in.

Day 6 – Wheel Pose – We managed to escape the lizardy land and now we’re travelling ROUND and ROUND the universe wondering where we’ll land next.

Day 7 – Supta Samakonasana – Today is our first day in relative safety so we can relax and rest for a moment and have a hip opening party.

Day 8 – Three Legged Dog - We woke up this morning and appear to be on a magical planet so while we’re in this safe haven we all found a good yoga spot to enjoy a good stretch.

Day 9 – Low Lunge with Backbend - We're nearing the end of our space journey but not before we land one more time into a low lunge. The force of the landing seems to have blown us all backwards so we made sure to stretch into our best backbend.

Day 10 – BONUS POSE - We've landed home safely but unfortunately have an extra member in our cargo which goes by some crazy arm balancing form.

This journey together has been so fun.

A few months ago I took part in my first #TwinningChallenge with the beautiful @KimTerpstra1978 so I was delighted to see it return for another round which meant more 'twinning' fun with the lovely Kim.
Take a look at all our pics below - I think we 'twinned' pretty well :)

I’m always so delighted and flattered to receive a tag and find an amazing drawing/painting one of the talented artists on Instagram has done of me.

I am flattered to have been drawn so many times by this artist and he was even kind enough to send them to me too.  These sketches are so realistic and there were so many of them, here’s just a few:

Moonchild SS16

Yay the new Moonchild Yoga Wear SPRING/SUMMER 2016 collection is here and I love it. In fact I have done ever since I saw the first pictures of the new pieces and I think they are just as stunning as the first collection (I won’t say better as I still love the original Moonchild collection).
The SS16 collection is called “Daydreamer” and introduces three new prints including this one I’m wearing – the ‘Naomi Levitate’.  The new collection fits in perfectly with the original designs, these Naomi Levitate leggings are exactly the same as the original New Elements leggings just in a different colour and I love that they still have the crescent moon design on the calves.  The biggest improvement in my opinion is in the fit of the bra top which now has just that little bit more coverage at the front and fits me perfectly.

There are now 7 Moonchild designs to choose from all of which are inspired by the colours and lights of Scandinavian nature which makes for a beautiful and unique collection.

Posing in PopActive

I’ve been following Poprageous on Instagram for ages and absolutely love everything they do especially their active wear line PopActive so when they asked if I’d like to collaborate and pose in some of their PopActive range of course I said yes :)

I always find it really hard to choose my favourite pieces and this was probably my hardest decision yet as they do sooo many different sets, all of which I love.  It was a hard choice and so many could have made it into my top two but eventually I decided on the 90’s Lavender and Leopard sets.
90's Lavender                                                               Leopard
It’s nice that most of the tops come in two different styles so you can choose the one you prefer, they are: the ‘Aurora Bra’ which is more of your traditional sporty racerback style and the ‘Jasmine Sports Bralette’ which has more of a bra look to it.  I like both so chose one of each.
A lot of the bottoms also come in two lengths so I chose one legging and one capri for variety.  These fit like a dream and definitely live up to their name ‘Dream Leggings’.

Here’s a few of my favourite shots posing in PopActive:

All White

25/4/2016

I tend to go through phases of what I’m liking in terms of active wear, be it certain colours or styles, and at the moment I’m loving
W H I T E

Here’s a few of my favourite white pieces:

Shambhala Barcelona: Vakra Bra and Purnata Leggings

What kicked off my love for all white yoga clothes was this white outfit from @Shambhalabarcelona and what drew me to this in particular out of all their range was the one-shoulder Vakra bra and I’m pleased to say not only does this top look good it also performs well too and stayed in place throughout all my yoga bending.  I chose the Purnata leggings to complete my all white look. This is a great pair of basic leggings with just enough little details, like the seams above the knee, to make them so much more than ‘just basic’.  In Sanskrit, Purnata means perfection and I think that sums up these leggings perfectly.

Daughters of Culture: Flash Bra 2.0 and Sunrise Flow Leggings

My second all white outfit is curtesy of @Daughtersofculture .  This is called the pure white collection and I love it.  The mesh panels in the Sunrise Flow leggings are what caught my eye as they look great whilst also helping to keep you cool.  I always love strappy back tops and the Flash Bra 2.0 with its 8 criss-crossing straps definitely ticks this box.  The first thing I noticed when I opened my DofC parcel was how silky the material felt.  I’m so pleased with my choice and if you fancy joining the sisterhood and becoming a ‘daughter’ you can get 10% off these or any other items at Daughters of Culture with code DOFC.

did worry two white outfits might be too similar but I think there are enough differences to justify two all white sets ;)

I love the purity of white and think it is the perfect addition to my yoga modelling wardrobe as it looks great in yoga photos both in the studio and outdoors.

Watch this space to see what I’m loving next.

K.BLU

I love finding new active wear brands, especially when their clothing is so beautiful, so when K.BLU asked me if I'd like to become an ambassador and share my story with them I couldn't resist.

Check out my journal here: http://www.kblu.com/blogs/journal/114467396-k-blu-active-ambassador-8-caroline-anne

As you can probably tell, I have a lot of active wear so I definitely look out for something special when I'm picking out new sets.  What drew me to K.BLU was the unique features like the zip front and cap sleeves on this Henna Mehndi crop top, plus the prints are so unique and stunning too.  I love that you can mix and match the active and swim ranges as both are available in the same prints.  Finally I love the little finishing touches like the little gold turtle on the back of the neck.

March Yoga Challenges

1/4/2016

March has been my busiest month so far with 5 different yoga challenges happening throughout the 31 days.  Take a look at what I’ve been up to below and click on the #Hashtags for full galleries.

I hosted 3 challenges throughout the month:

#DetoxEquinox – 20 days of intense twists and bends leading up to the Spring Equinox.

#LeotardLovies 2 – part one went so well we couldn’t resist returning for round 2,
this time Werking It in Werkshop leotards.

#ShineAndBloom – a great finish to the month as we left winter and the cold behind and warmed up for spring with 12 days of fun poses,
including arm balances, backbends and inversions.

As well as these 3, I was flattered to be asked to be a special guest in the #FlexiStraps challenge with @arigador and @ainania_ainania, especially as I loved these two ladies first challenge with yoga wheels and this time the challenge focused on another great yoga prop – straps.
Using my MamaKuka straps
And as well as all of this, I decided to do even more yoga and take part in #MarchOnYourMat – I’m always on the lookout for pose ideas for when I shoot and this challenge gave me a whole list of yoga poses to use as my inspiration for the month.
